Hello, I am Louis
Project manager. Parent. Expat based in Lyon, France.
A couple of years ago, I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Began
Moving to France wasn't part of the long-range plan. Like many expat relocations, it started as a job chance and quickly grew into something far bigger.
The early months were demanding— new processes, new routines, new expectations. Daily chores seemed more complex than they ought to be.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, some uncertainty, and plenty of hands-on learning. Over time, routines took shape. We found spots that suited us, connected with other families, and began crafting something that felt steady.
Why I Built StoneAnchorHollow
Most online guidance was either corporate relocation tips or shallow tourism content. What was missing was a candid, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to bridge that gap—practical advice drawn from real life in France.
What This Site Represents (And What It Isn’t)
This site is:
- Hands-on insights from life in France
- Centered on family routines and day-to-day realities
- Updated whenever a real change occurs
This site isn't:
- An official tourism resource
- A paid-review platform
- A generic travel blog
Moving Forward
Our stay in France goes on, and the learning journey continues. As long as the information remains helpful, I’ll keep recording what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Lyon or anywhere in France, don't hesitate to contact me.
